Too handsome to be gay?

I added an entry to this blog yesterday about hat sizes and some anonymous person left me a comment:

It is not a comment about this post, but a comment about you, Rob. You are too handsome to be gay.:((

That's a new one on me but very flattering.

However, although I don't fit any into most of the straight world's stereotypes, I am sexually attracted to other men and, in fact, have a boyfriend, which by the broadest definition of sexuality would probably make me gay.

Hedging your bets

I was looking at baseball caps online and saw this marvelous new twist on an old favourite:

One size fits most

Overcrowding

This morning was unusual. I met up with Dominic at Orpington and so had someone to talk to on the train. The train was also late and therefore overcrowded. This is not so bad. If you get on at Orpington there is no chance of not getting a seat. People joining the train at later stations, however, will have to stand.

One lady with a large bottom tried a different approach. She didn't actually manage to sit on my shoulder but it was close.

Bionic Woman

Despite being on the wrong side of the Atlantic, I managed to catch the first episode of the new Bionic Woman last night.

It wasn't too demanding and fairly enjoyable. I'm not sure how it will develop or whether I will want to watch further episodes. It wasn't as good as Battlestar Galactica despite coming from the same stable and borrowing two cast members (Katee Sackhoff and Aaron Douglas) but it had the same dark feel to it.

It probably says a lot that I was able to suspend disbelief for most of the episode apart from one scene and that was the rather gratuitous sex scene.

Apart from it being rather noisy (think of the noise made by someone who eats with their mouth open and you'd be getting the right idea), I was questioning the wisdom of the act in itself.

One of the characters was the bionic woman herself and the other her boyfriend, who also happened to be the man who gave her the new legs and arm. Now, imagine if you had recently operated on your loved one and given them new very strong limbs. You've just had a number of discussions with your beloved about the new limbs and have, in particular, talked about how they will need getting used to.

In essence, your loved one does not yet fully know to use their new electronic body parts. With the new strength that the new limbs give, there should really be a period of settling in and of coaching so that the new limbs are used as naturally as the old.

Is it therefore a good idea to allow this lethal weapon, however close to your heart it may be, into your bed to play with your tender bits?

It's no good her saying, "sorry, it came away in my hand," is it?

Marilyn Monroe + 2

There's an article in today's Metro about a woman who has been making a living as a Marilyn Monroe lookalike for the last eight years.

A little bit of research revealed that Norma Jean Baker legally changed her name to Marilyn Monroe in 1956 even though she had been using it as her stage name for a lot longer. She died in 1962 so, strictly speaking, she was Marilyn Monroe for less than six years.

And this woman has been a Monroe copy for eight. Odd world.

Traffic

Last week I had a rush of hits to my blog. By most people's standards there weren't very many but 19 in one day is quite a few for me. What's odd is that most seem to be coming to me via the spurious Beard Scotland search in Google which, at the time of writing, puts my blog at the top of the list of websites found.

I expect for many people looking for beards in Scotland, my blog is a bit of a disappointment. My blog is not about beards nor is it set in Scotland. The picture I have for my blog profile just happens to be called BeardScotland because it is a picture of me with a beard while I was in Scotland on holiday.

The number of hits here does seem to be fairly random however. After last week's giddy heights, I'm now down to worse than usual with either no hits or just one per day for the last few days.

People are just so fickle.
